Looks like The Island Of Dr. Moreau is getting turned into a TV series by Zack Stentz. If you don't know who Mr. Stentz is, he's the writer of X-Men: First Class, Thor, Rim Of The World, Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous, & Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.
So Mr. Stentz has quite a good track record in terms of his storytelling ability. Some other things to note are:
The show will be called "Moreau"
Dr. Moreau is getting gender-swapped to a woman.
No word on a mini-me clone in this one. LoL.
Obviously the show is loosely based on the classic book and is meant to have a "horror" bend to it, particularly body horror where mutations and abominations will occur. It will probably also have thriller elements. From what I can gather, it looks like Dr. Jessica Moreau will be the main character and the bad guy will be some mysterious billionaire who is funding her experiments. The Deadline article quotes the head of the production company as comparing Dr. Moreau to Dr. Frankenstein, so I'm guessing we'll have lots of crazy mad science in this one. No word on where the show will be airing, but I'm guessing it will be a streaming platform of some kind.
